  • PITSITSARI - ASHANINKA ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

Handcrafted Art with Amazonian Soul Pitsitsari  is an ancestral artistic expression deeply connected to our Asháninka culture. This cotton fabric art stands out for its artisanal process, where clay and natural dyes extracted from the Amazon rainforest are used. Each piece tells a story, intertwining nature and spirituality through the hands of female artisans, who, according to tradition, are the guardians of this technique. Each Pitsitsari design symbolizes spiritual protection and the daily activities of life in our communities. It is not just decorative art, but a medium to convey our connection to the earth, the spirits, and the natural forces that surround us. Coming Soon: Unique Clothing Collection We are excited to announce that very soon we will be launching an exclusive clothing collection, made with the same natural materials and high-quality cotton. Each garment will be unique, handcrafted, and designed to honor our Asháninka culture. This collection not only aims to offer you authentic and sustainable pieces but also to connect the world with our heritage, using dyes and ancestral techniques that reflect the soul of the Amazon. The Protection of the Amazon The art of Pitsitsari  also carries a powerful message of conservation. By choosing to work with organic materials and processes that respect the environment, our artisans promote a life in harmony with nature. This tradition reinforces the importance of saying "No to deforestation" , as without the Amazon, there is no life. Caring for the forest is an integral part of our worldview, as we know that our future depends on the health of the jungle. I Am the Amazon, I Am Life By acquiring pieces like ours, you are not only supporting indigenous art but also our fight to protect the Amazon. Your purchase is a step towards sustainability and recognizing the importance of native cultures that have cared for this land for generations.

  • ETHNIC & RESPONSIBLE ASHANINKA ART

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QYmOz8nxmM At the heart of our project at Ampeji, we hold deep admiration and respect for the artisans who bring our creations to life. One of the pillars of our commitment to sustainability and fair trade is the support of women from various communities who keep alive the art of Asháninka weaving, passing down their ancestral knowledge from generation to generation. Raquel: A Pillar of Textile Wisdom Raquel is one of the ten mothers involved in our project. She embodies the essence of Asháninka textile tradition and the wisdom of the women in her SHEBOJA community. Her experience and skill in weaving not only preserve ancient techniques but also enrich our collections with authenticity and cultural depth. Each piece Raquel and her fellow artisans create is a testament to their dedication and craftsmanship. Through their work, they not only maintain their traditional techniques but also participate in a fair trade system that ensures they receive equitable compensation for their labor. Our Commitment to Fair Trade At Ampeji, we believe that fair trade is essential for the sustainable development of indigenous communities. That’s why we work closely with the artisans to ensure that their skills are valued and fairly rewarded. This approach not only fosters an equitable work environment but also strengthens the local economy and promotes equal opportunities. Sustainability at Every Step Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond fair trade practices. We use natural and renewable materials in our creations and ensure that all production processes respect both the environment and the worldview of our identity. By supporting the artisans and choosing sustainable materials, we contribute to the protection of our resources and our cultural vision. How You Can Contribute By choosing our products, you’re not just acquiring a unique piece of Asháninka art but also directly supporting the communities that work with us. Every purchase helps strengthen fair trade and promotes sustainable practices that benefit both artisans and the environment. At Ampeji, we are proud of our collaboration with Raquel and the group. Their dedication and wisdom are an integral part of our mission and vision. Together, we are building a fairer and more sustainable future for all.
