Who We Are

Ampeji is an indigenous Asháninka brand rooted in the valleys of Perene, Ene, and Tambo in the Junín region of Peru. We create distinctive Amazonian products, including handcrafted jewelry and clothing, using natural materials such as seeds, feathers, and wood. Our creations honor and preserve ancient indigenous art, blending traditional techniques with contemporary design.

Our mission is to not only share our culture and artistic vision but also to bolster the livelihoods of the artisans involved with Ampeji through fair and sustainable trade. Every year, during a festival where we practice ayomparetabakaya (sacred Asháninka trade), our artisans exchange materials like seeds, wood bark, and feathers, as well as music, medicine, art, wisdom, and worldview.

The Asháninka ethnic group, known for its warrior spirit and deep bond with our land, is found in both Peru and Brazil.
